Technology Specialist / Curriculum Writer
I have been an educator spanning many different grades and specialties for over 10 years. I have always loved incorporating technology into my curriculum and earned my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Technology from Grand Canyon University. My passion is empowering students and educators to become 21st century learners.
I love utilizing what I learned in my master’s program in my work as Technology Specialist and Curriculum writer with iKidsCode. I am able to take my passion of technology and empower our instructors to learn new technology and give their students opportunities to use their knowledge in creative ways!
As the Technology Specialist and Curriculum Writer at iKidsCode, it is my mission help students gain foundational computer science and programming knowledge. I design each class to take those foundational skills and expand their own problem solving and critical thinking skills while creating projects in digital storytelling, animation, and game design. My priority is fostering their personal interests and channeling that into their own creative projects.
Shaye is a senior at Grand Canyon University pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She finds her passion in teaching kids new and innovative ways to learn with today’s knowledge. Coding is a fun way to get the kiddos brains working in a new way and it can reach all different learning styles.
Marissa enjoys teaching because it is amazing to see students learn and develop new skills. She also likes to experience new opportunities and is currently studying Elementary and Special Education at Grand Canyon University.
Amanda joined the team at iKidsCode in January, 2017. Initially from South Dakota, she moved to Arizona in 2011 to attend Northern Arizona University where she studied Business Administration. As a part of her degree program, multiple Computer Science and Technology courses were completed. These courses assisted in the realization of the importance of Information Technology and the numerous benefits offered to those with an in depth understanding of the field. This realization became a passion that is used in imparting the knowledge she attained at NAU, and other personal endeavors, to her classroom at iKidsCode. This passion is easily viewable in the dedication of teaching computer coding and computer literacy skills in a fun and exciting way. The methodologies employed in her classroom ensure her students are engaged and understanding the information in a way which prepares them to be successful in the future.
Danielle joined the iKidsCode team in 2017. She earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and her Master’s in Educational Technology from Arizona State University. She has taught everything from Kindergarten to college. In addition to teaching in the Peoria Unified School District, Danielle taught in the College of Teacher Education and Leadership at ASU. She also was an instructor, curriculum writer and teacher-trainer for the Conexiones program through ASU, teaching undeserved migrant students in English and Technology in after school and summer programs. She has a passion for helping kids love learning, especially through the use of technology.
Christa joined iKids Code as a teacher in January 2018. Prior to coming to iKids Code Christa held various roles in training and teaching such as Director of Learning and Organizational Development at Make a Wish Foundation of America, Director of Organizational and Employee Development at Classified Ventures, a subsidiary of the Chicago Tribune, Instructional Design Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Instructor at Northern Illinois University. Additionally, she worked as a Senior Instructional Designer, facilitator, coach and consultant for the Worldwide Center for Professional Education at Arthur Andersen for 17 years where she taught business skills for entry level, management level and leaders worldwide.
Andrew earned his MA in Educational Leadership. He is passionate about teaching students the skills that they will need for the future. Andrew does a great job creating a fun atmosphere that helps bring out the best in his students.
Houston served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic for four years. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks on the beautiful island of Oahu. Houston deployed to the Kunar Province in Afghanistan from April 2010 ’til April 2011. He teaches 7th and 8th grade social studies at Copperwood Elementary. He loves being able to work with and get to know his students to help set them up for success!
She is currently going to Arizona State University to get her teaching degree. She loves having the ability to teach children about technology because it is such a big part of our world today.
She is currently attending Northern Arizona University to earn her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. Paola loves helping students achieve their goals and challenge their strengths while being able to provide a support system for them.
She can speak five different languages! She is currently earning her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. She enjoys being able to use the skills she has learned to help students with different learning styles. Her favorite parte about teaching at iKidsCode is that we bring kids’ imagination to life and they display so much love and interest in their project.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Aurora University. She has worked in the Glendale Elementary School District for the last four years. She loves creating a welcoming and fun environment in her classroom.
